A resume is the document used to introduce yourself to the hiring manager; it is how we first communicate with them and that first communication with a company is key. Writing a very long resume
Hiring managers receive hundreds of resumes for each job postings and they quickly skim through them, eliminating candidates who clearly are not qualified. Therefore, writing a brief and concise resume is key. When writing your resume keep in mind that the hiring manager should be able to review your main credentials within 10 to 15 seconds. You should effectively catch the attention of a hiring manager on the top quarter of the first page.
Informal e-mail address
It doesn’t look professional to use an e-mail that has your nickname or allude to your favorite rock band. No recruiter is going to take your resume seriously if your email address is “Sexy Girl@gmail.com” or “PartyBoy@gmail.com” You should open a professional email address for job searching, preferably, using your name. Remember that you can open a free account with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and other free email services.
Use the spell checker in your word document! Although using a spell checker does not guarantee that your resume will be 100% free of errors, the spell checker is very helpful. Reading your resume a couple of times will help you catch grammar mistakes. You can also ask a friend or teacher to help you review it or contact a resume writing services company before you send it out.
It’s a mistake to try to inflate your resume using false information, because you will be closing doors and losing opportunities. You need to have a little more confidence in yourself. Be honest with your information; perhaps your knowledge, work experience and/or skills can compensate for some area of weakness you may have on your resume.
