Customer Care: Many companies, such as Apple and American Express, outsource their customer service to experienced individuals who may want to work from home. This is also called “call centers”. You can receive phone calls from the comfort of your home, which are forwarded to you from an 800 number. Answering questions or helping customers in some particular aspect from the comfort of your home is a good option. In order to do this, you need to have customer service experience and have access to a landline and Internet.
Accountant: If you are good with numbers, have experience working with a financial institution or you’re always helping your friends with financial paperwork, it is time to start your own accounting business. Using TurboTax or H&RBlock software, you can help your friends and family with tax preparation services. These softwares are very easy to use, and after you get enough experience, you will be able to sell your services to individuals and small businesses.
Tutor: If you like teaching, you can start a business teaching student in their homes or at a public library. Please get in touch with the schools or community groups to promote your services. Websites like Care.com, Tutor and Indeed where you can advertise your services.
Start your own eBay store: If you are able to find good deals in thrift shops and auctions, you can start your own eBay store. On eBay, you will be able to sell your products at a fixed price or through auction to get very high offers.
