It’s possible that you’ve felt the need to spend more time at home or with your family, but you can’t do it because you work long hours. Having the option of rolling out of bed and working from your home office sounds tempting.
With so many advances in technology, working from home is no longer a challenging or difficult thing to accomplish. There are many jobs you can do from home and all you need is your skills, knowledge and internet access.
Here are a few options if working from home is something you are seriously considering:
Blog about experiences and interest with others
Successful bloggers can earn an income through online messages, articles and regular columns. You can start creating your own blog on websites such as Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress. On your blog, you can write about the topics you are most interested in and to turn it into a profit by adding Google ads to the blog. All you need to do is to sign up for Google AdSense to earn money when people click on the ads on your blog. The more visitors you have on your website, the more opportunities to make money and continue working from home long term.
Use your customer service skills
Many companies, such as Apple and American Express, outsource their customer service to experienced individuals who prefer working from home. This is also called “call centers”. You can receive phone calls from the comfort of your home, which are forwarded to you from an 800 number. Answering questions or helping customers in some particular aspect from the comfort of your home is a good option. In order to do this, you need to have customer service experience and have access to a landline and Internet.
Help others with their taxes
If you are good with numbers, have experience working with a financial institution or you’re always helping your friends with financial paperwork, it is time to start your own accounting business. Using TurboTax or H&RBlock software, you can help your friends and family with tax preparation services. These software are very easy to use, and after you get enough experience, you will be able to sell your services to individuals and small businesses.

If you like teaching, you can start a business teaching student in their homes or at a public library. Please get in touch with the schools or community groups to promote your services. Websites like Care.com, Tutor and Indeed where you can advertise your services.
Explore your artistic skills:
If you like the manual tasks and design, and you are creative, an interesting option may be to create an online business where you can sell your creations. Once your product is finished, you should take pictures and upload them to your web portal where you can promote it. You can create your own website using free web hosts, such as WordPress, Wix, Weebly, among others. You can also sell your products on eBay or Etsy if you don’t have a website yet.
Start your own eBay store: If you are able to find good deals in thrift shops and auctions, you can start your own eBay store. On eBay, you will be able to sell your products at a fixed price or through auction to get very high offers.
